In the modern part away from the original Porto Colom, the Cala Marsal is a funnel-shaped large beach with the tourist part and bars, restaurants, live music and dance.

Not far from Porto Colom is the golf club Vall D’or with a wonderful view over the coast to the sea and recommended restaurant Maxime.

Some Mallorcans even think that Christopher Columbus was born here and therefore the place has its name, which, however, has not been historically proven.
