Cala d’Or is a popular vacation resort in the municipality of Santany with its own special vacation charm. The houses are built flat and white in the Ibiza style with Mediterranean vegetation by the Ibizan architect Josep Costa Ferrer. In 1930 he discovered this area and decided to build a small vacation settlement.

King Phillips V had the fortress “Es Forti ” built on the right headland in 1730 to protect against pirates and attackers. The fortress is well worth a visit and offers a magnificent view over the bay and the sea. The area is one of the most sought after in Cala dor, especially the first sea line plots.

The fine sandy beaches of Cala D’or with clear water are partly in the village, which is spread over three headlands. Next to the main beach Cala Gran, the bays are lined up on both sides in Cala d Or: Cala Llonga, Cala Serena, Cala Ferrera, Cala Esmeralda, Cala d’es Forti, Cala Galera and Cala Egos.
Particularly popular is the nearby nature reserve of the Parc Natural de Mondragó with the beaches Ses Fonts de n’Alís and S’Amarador, which is located near Cala d Or.
