Despite regional differences in sunshine hours, which can be explained by the location of the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range, the sun god kisses the Mallorcan soil for an average of 8 hours a day. Approaching clouds from the northwest get stuck on the up to 1,445 meter high mountains and rain down on the north and west flanks of the Tramuntana mountains. At temperatures that never see the freezing point at any time of the year, the cycling enthusiasts flock to an average of 12 &#8211; 15 degrees Celsius in the Mallorcan lowlands.<\/p>\n<p>From March the temperatures are already scratching the 20 degree mark, before in May the first bathing beauties cavort at up to 26 degrees Celsius on the white sandy beaches. At the latest when June heralds the summer season, precipitation is as unlikely as yawning emptiness at Ballermann. While the coastal areas can look forward to temperatures of up to 33 degrees Celsius in midsummer, the inland sweats at up to 40 degrees Celsius.
